Unmanned Aircraft Systems Geophysics

An important new development in airborne geophysical surveys is the application of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) or drones. Systems have been developed over the last decade and reached the point of commercial application. Such systems can be employed at low altitude above ground (1 m) and in harsh environment that would not allow manned fixed wing or helicopter surveys. In addition the use of an UAS is ideal for collecting very dense data over small grids.

The main advantages of our UAS technology over conventional airborne geophysics are as follows:

•  The resolution and accuracy is higher compared to the deployment of conventional manned aircrafts
due to the fact that our UAS can  fly much smaller ground clearance
• It is fast and flexible and to easy deploy.
•  It is cost effective and requires less personnel compared to conventional geophysical platforms.
•  Only the area of interest is flown, no excess flight lines are necessary.
